Celebrating our colouring competition winners

Posted on Jan 18, 2024

In early December we ran a colouring and sticker competition at the John Cummins Builders Union Picnic.

Throughout the day we spoke to thousands of members and their families, it’s always great to meet our members, both big and small.

How it worked

Throughout the day we received over a hundred entries into the coloring and sticker competition.

There were 6 construction city Lego packs up for grabs across 3 categories.

  • Best use of colour
  • Best use of stickers
  • Most innovative

The winners from the Melbourne picnic were announced on the day by the CFMEU’s John Setka.

The entries from the regional picnics were submitted online and then drawn after the picnic in Wodonga.

Winners

The entries were impressive, making it difficult for the judges to choose only 6.

The 6 winners were chosen from across Victoria and South Australia, with a significant number of entries coming from regional locations.

The winners for each category were:

  • Asher - Best use of colour
  • Joanna - Best use of colour
  • Zoe - Best use of stickers
  • Grace - Best use of stickers
  • Cash - Most innovative
  • Mason - Most innovative

Joanna’s early holiday gift

Joanna went to the Adelaide picnic and won the category of best use of colour.

Over the holidays we were lucky enough to be sent some pictures from Joanna’s mum.

According to Joanna the prize pack was the ‘best gift ever’.

We’d like to thank Joanna and her family for coming to visit us at the picnic and Joanna for submitting one of the best colouring entries we’ve ever seen.

This prize pack is the best gift ever

Joanna, 9

We’re looking forward to a bigger and better competition next year.
