Located on the corner of Victoria and Bouverie Streets at the northern edge of Melbourne’s CBD, Multiplex is constructing Swanston Central, a 71-storey residential tower and a 2-storey refurbished – heritage listed former Carlton United Breweries building.

With project completion in 2019, Swanston Central is already bustling with activity, currently involving 400 workers on site per day. This number is likely to grow further to around 500. The present workforce predominately comprises of finishes, structural and services trades.

A major feature of the building are the 15 free standing columns spread around the buildings’ perimeter that span 30 metres from street level to Level 6. Each column will have 3 faces clad with glass panels that fan out up the column.

The tower consists of 1,039 high end residential apartments spread across 59 levels, commencing at Level 8 through to Level 69, with a duplex penthouse to part of Level 70. Swanston Central boasts a range of resident facilities across three levels including a 20m pool, children’s pool, plunge pools, spas, individual sauna and steam rooms, hanging lounge pods, cabanas, yoga room, spin room, multipurpose room, library, boardroom, cinemas, games rooms, grand dining room and a grand lounge bar.

Within the podium levels, 326 bicycle parks and approximately 222 car parks have been allocated across a fully automated car stacker. Additional features of the podium include residential lobbies, public arcade, concierge facilities, premium retail and food and beverage frontage to Bouverie Street, and a public laneway to a shared plaza space.
