The Work Safely at Heights course is designed for participants who could be required to undertake activities that will require them to work above 1.5metres from ground level and where fall protection measures are required. The course is designed to expose participants who work at height to a broad range of height risk situations and to correctly implement a safe working procedure. Upon completion of this course, participants will be competent to work at height using applicable fall protective equipment in line with Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.

The course relates to a unit which specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant. Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated. The unit of competence will see the student complete theory work and also participate in practical tasks operating the Elevating work platform in a work situation. The student will plan the work, setup and prepare to complete the work, carryout the work followed by packing up the machine and work area.

This course prepares learners to operate and conduct work activities from an elevating work platform (EWP) with a boom length over 11m. An EWP can be telescopic, hinged, articulated, or a combination of these, used to support a platform from which people, equipment or materials can be elevated to perform work. Participants will learn how to set-up, operate, shut-down and secure the EWP. This is a nationally accredited qualification that is recognised in all states and territories of Australia. The course is based on the requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High-Risk Work. Learners who successfully complete the training will become eligible to apply for a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL).

This course covers the functions required to operate boom-type elevating work platforms with a boom length of 11 metres or more.

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a HRWL licence to operate this plant. Students will be issued a Statement of Attainment within 21 days after completing all Safework and WRCC training and assessment activities. Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground, but does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck. The unit of competence will see the student complete theory work and also participate in practical tasks operating the forklift in a work situation. The student will plan the work, conduct routine checks on a forklift truck, shift loads in a safe manner, and safely shut down and secure equipment after completing operations.

Note: This does not include a pedestrian-operated truck or a pallet truck. This is a nationally accredited qualification that is recognised in all states and territories of Australia.
