Construction workers are 50% more likely to take their own lives compared to other industries. Mental health and suicide are a significant challenge requiring an industry-led solution.
Our Bluehats program was designed by industry, for industry as a peer-to-peer support network providing education, training and support to workers on a site-by-site basis.
The program helps workers who are doing it tough by providing someone to talk to on site.
Hear from our Bluehats
Our Bluehats regularly tell us how the program has impacted not only them but those around them.
The skills learned throughout the program can help participants, their family, friends and workmates through the many challenges life can bring.
You can hear from some of our dedicated Bluehats below:
Last year with the support of CBUS and WorkSafe Victoria the Bluehats program and education sessions reached 16,585 workers across 416 construction sites.
We are often the first call a site makes after a critical incident so we can ensure workers can speak to a trained counsellor. We have responded to dozens of critical incidents and near-misses this year providing much needed support for those impacted.
