As we celebrate World Youth Skills Day, we spoke with the team at Tower Crane Training (TCT) in New South Wales. TCT has seen a sharp uptake in young people looking to further their skills in the industry, with the assistance of Incolink.
In June we launched a training voucher program in NSW for members who do not have access to other free industry training. Eligible Incolink members can access $1,500 vouchers and choose from eight in-demand courses at selected RTOs.
TCT is one of the RTOs partnering with Incolink. Located in Campbelltown, about an hour outside Sydney, TCT saw an uptake in demand when the training voucher program was launched in June.
The training voucher program has presented an opportunity for many young people to continue their journey in the industry, with TCT Training Manager Tracy Bright telling us that young women in particular have jumped at the chance to upskill themselves.
“We are seeing a lot of female students enrolling in the Hoist Operator course. For many, it is their first High Risk Work (HRW) licence course which can be a little daunting” Ms Bright said.
“The support and backing of an organisation like Incolink genuinely means a lot to us.”
Incolink’s training voucher program has allowed members across New South Wales to access almost $200,000 worth of training since the launch of the program in June, with over $65,000 claimed in the opening 48 hours of the launch.
Thank you to the team at Tower Crane Training for sharing their story. Visit their website here to learn more about their services.
Training vouchers are still available for members in the region. A full list of courses and RTOs are on our website here.
